Moscow, the city of 5 seas with its colossal golden-domed monuments, is home to a spectacular urban development: Neva Towers. Located right in the centre of the city, in the modern “Moscow City” district, beside the Moskva River, it is a residential complex of exquisitely designed apartments at the cutting edge of technology and sustainability.

This complex of luxury homes is one of the best residential offerings in Moscow. It is considered the most successful, for its architecture and infrastructure. An unbeatable location connected to all the services and advantages of urban life, and to the city's main cultural and business activities.

The Neva Towers building is the embodiment of modern architecture, one that has no time for fleeting fashions, but rests on its sober, imposing beauty, thanks to the lightness of the glass and natural stone throughout its structure.

It is also a project built in accordance with the “LEED” (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) rating system, based on sustainable, high-efficiency criteria, with the aim of reducing the consumption of energy and material resources, as well as improving the health and comfort of its residents, taking care of details such as waste management, natural light, indoor air quality and the quality and sustainability of the materials used, among others.

ALSO IMPRESSIVE INSIDE

In one of the homes in Neva Towers, an interior design project has been carried out, specifically a very special bathroom, designed for two. The architect and interior designer Marina Shahrai was in charge of this project and was its creative mind.

“Between Heaven and Earth” is the name of this spectacular project. A colour combination and an interweaving of lines and forms, based on the dichotomy of the masculine and feminine, heaven and earth. Despite this duality, it has two fundamental points of union in its overall composition: elegance and sobriety.

Marina Shahrai's challenge? To design a large space to the client's taste and needs without neglecting the essence of a building as avant-garde as Neva Towers. To do so, she focused her idea on the sensations the residents would experience on entering the bathroom, putting herself in their shoes. The main idea was thus not to resort to a specific style, but to create one of her own, something totally original.

The bathroom has several distinct areas within a single space, thanks to its compositional elements.

On one side, the basin area, with two inset basins in a unit with a black and white marble-effect finish, which represents the quality of the tangible, the earthly. It is accompanied by a large round mirror with LED lighting, and a wall unit in dark wood complements the hidden storage in the bathroom unit, for greater everyday convenience.

The taps selected for these basins are from the Alexia collection by Ramon Soler® in brushed gold finish. It is worth noting that with this creation the brand managed to set a trend with the forms that until then we had associated with an ergonomic, sustainable tap. Its design is a combination of sinuous lines with the solidity of polished angles. The body, with an inverse taper, and a lever of soft lines with a perfect balance of proportions, create an ideal harmony and total comfort for the user. In addition to their delicate aesthetics, these taps feature a water-saving system that can reduce consumption by up to 50%, easily and during use, through the two-stage opening of the flow via the lever.

The brushed gold finish is produced with the PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) technique, an ionic coating process in which the surface of the piece is covered with a highly resistant metal. A specific type of coating that provides not only aesthetic value but also protection against rust, wear, scratches, limescale and sea water. Maximum resistance for everyday use, which will preserve all the splendour and quality of the finish.

The combination of the rectangular geometry of the furniture and the marble effect, together with the delicacy of the sinuous forms and the gold finish of the Alexia taps, is the ultimate expression of strength and avant-garde character. The round mirror highlights the curves of the tap and the LED lighting creates a majestic atmosphere.

On the other side, we find the bathing area, with an unusual approach to its structure, as the shower is hidden behind a tiled wall in the purest Cubist style. Conceived as the relaxation area, it features a revitalising rain-effect shower, also by Ramon Soler®. There are several levels of lighting that allow different atmospheres to be created: ceiling lights arranged in parallel to create broad, symmetrical illumination, and pendant lamps at different heights that also add a geometric air, in line with the shower tiles.

The blue tones of the bathtub, combined with the side table and the pouffe, transport us to the calm of the sea. The fresh, immaculate white flowers follow the luminous effect of the ceiling lights and the mirror.

Marina Shahrai's conceptual idea for the project and the values of Ramon Soler® converge in the purpose of creating sensations, endowing their creations with that emotional and experiential effect. A bathroom is not just a bathroom; it is a place of self-care, peace and tranquillity where we reconnect with ourselves. The taps are a key piece, responsible for delivering water, that precious and even therapeutic natural resource, which we should enjoy by using it responsibly and sensibly. The user's experience in the bathroom will be satisfying to the extent that the set of elements around them connects with their tastes and needs, providing a unique comfort and wellbeing, almost without their being aware of it. This is made possible by the passionate work of creatives such as Marina Shahrai and industrial design brands such as Ramon Soler®, focused on the user's sensory experience.
